Zoe’s Scribbles: Sugar Baby III

Remember Nnanna? Dude I met a couple of stories back? Yeah, dude was at my door.

See, Nnanna and I had had a good thing going on but for one thing. His penchant for disappearing without a word. He wasn’t an onshore oil worker so I couldn’t understand why he’d just drop off the face of the earth with no means of communication.

The worse was, he’d come back with claims to have missed me and then he’d fuck me, LoL. I might be many things but stupid isn’t one of them. One day, I decided I had had enough and on one of such periods he disappeared, I blocked his numbers from calling me, blocked him on every social networking sites, instructed the security at my apartment and work to not let me in.

It had been such a long time and I thought I had gotten rid of him. Unfortunately, the security at my apartment were recently changed and they didn’t know him.

“What do you want? I asked.

I really wasn’t in the mood to deal with him at all.

‘Haba Zoe, I came to see you. I’ve been unable to reach you for a long time. I missed you’. Just imagine the nerve of him to come here acting like all was normal.

“That doesn’t answer my question. What do you want?” he tried to give me one of those his heart melting smiles but unfortunately, I was way past that.

I decided to play along and I opened my door wide for him to come in. We sat down and I was looking at him expecting him to say something. When he didn’t, I decided to help him.

“So what bullshit story do you have for me this time?”

‘Zoe, I’m sorry. I have been so swamped with work all this while. We’ve been pursuing some contract in the office and it required all hands to be on deck. But I missed you’.

As he said that, he leaned in to kiss me. I drew back, got up and waked to the door.

“I’m glad you did. Unfortunately I didn’t. I don’t ever want to see you again. Get out!”

The shock on his face was everything at that moment.

‘C’mon Zoe, we can talk about this.’ I laughed.

“Oh we have. You’ve told me your cock and bull story. I have told you what I want. Now, get the hell out. We’re done.”

It didn’t help that my robe was slightly open and my boobs were partly on display so he decided to try a different approach. He came close to me, slipped his hand in and began to tease my nipples. To be honest, it was working but I was done with him and for good this time.

I smiled at him, took his hand out and told him,

“Nnanna, get out”.

He knew I was serious and he quietly left looking like a dog with its tail between its legs. I hissed and banged my door so hard, he probably startled.

The next day at work, I decided to quickly pick my team to work with me on the project. I sent an email to 6 of them asking them to meet me at the conference room. As we discussed, I realised that a couple of them weren’t happy being told what to do by me.

If only they knew I had more qualifications than the 6 of them combined. I had my job title because the pay checks were higher than theirs. Because I knew I was probably going to deal with some insubordination, I subtly reminded them that appraisal week was coming and I had my boss’ ears.

That seemed to put them in check. I shared them into mini teams, each with their own responsibility and we discussed some ideas. As we exchanged, I realised one thing, I was going to do the bulk of the work as usual.

I was so busy with the project that I missed lunch. Luckily, my boss had gone out and he returned with something for me to eat. I hurriedly ate my meal and went back to work. It wasn’t until my phone began to ring that I realised it was past 7.

I looked at the caller id and it was a strange number. Not even True Caller could identify it. I picked it and guess whose voice was at the other end?

Yep, Tunde Hart. ‘I’m downstairs. Meet me in 5’ and he hung up.

I was so exhausted but I had promised to meet him for dinner. I got down and saw this sleek black AMG and I knew it had to be him. He was sat at the driver’s seat and I got in beside him. He took one look at me and the look in his eyes changed. Something akin to pity.

‘You look tired. Hell of a day I guess?’ “You don’t know the half of it. I am exhausted.” He nodded and took out his phone. Made a call and when he was done, he smiled at me.

‘I know just the perfect place for us to have dinner.’

With that, he drove off.
