I have tried to start this post approximately 5 times but I keep deleting it, it just doesn’t sound right with each line. So, I have decided to just go with this.I started blogging on wordpress.com in late 2011; it was a lot of work back then, it is till now but it is easier now. The main problem then wasn’t getting the hits, content was the main issue then.
For anyone who knows much about blogging, you’ll realize that comments are only a tiny fraction of the hits you receive. With the need to circulate the content on the blog came Twitter broadcast, “Pls RT”.
This is one thing you’ll always get on your TL either you want it or not. Are retweets effective? The answer to that depends on the blogger.
Firstly, I tried to send to people I think it would interest and ask for a retweet, things weren’t going as planned but I continued my blogging, I figured out that if people visited, are they gonna read just 4 or 5 articles and leave? No
So, I decided to blog atleast once a week, I met with incredible people as well on twitter, they agreed to share content with me, infact some people decided to start their own columns (Zoe’s Scribbles, Average Joe, Male Fashion and Joey Parker).
At first, people were skeptical about blogging with me because they felt all the stuff I blog about is mainly erotica. Well, honestly I don’t do porn all the time; I tried to spice it up with some articles in between. Some of the articles were good enough but what I battled with the most was Retweets, I had to reduce them to the bearest minimum to those I knew were interested in the post.
I got insulted a couple of times by tweeps who I sent the broadcast message to, they dint like the idea of me asking for a retweet and spoke up their mind, Their requests were honored.
While still on wordpress.com I started a web series, 17 Awosika, I wrote it weekly and it ended after 8 weeks, I did all this with the mind that there must be more content for people to come and read also to explore my novel writing abilities, mixed review with that as well.
I battled with editing the posts, a few tweeps offered to help me with this and indeed am grateful for this. I cant thank them enough but that problem isn’t solved totally. In the past year, a lot of people volunteered to write for this blog and to those people, I say a big thank you, to the people who have helped retweet the posts, to the people who have personally recommended the blog, I’m thankful for all of you.
Something good happened earlier this year when a fan of the blog decided to read out some of the articles, they were awesome, I can’t thank them enough. All of the people who have contributed to this blog up until this point have done so without collecting payment of any kind.
By the end of January, the blog will be officially a year old and I couldn’t have this without you, without your visits, your referrals, your comments, your encouragement. When I started some people said the blog will fizzle out in a couple of weeks but we haven’t….at least not yet.
My sole aim for this blog is to bring you entertainment, we’re not main stream entertainment, I don’t believe in circulating stories that have been on like 40 other blogs, our content are original and you can be sure you’re reading it from just one source. We hope to have a fruitful and rewarding year, this 2013. We can only hope that you continue to enjoy the blog and tell us how we can serve you better.
For all those people who have kept faith with us from the beginning, we will continue to work harder not to lose that faith, for those people who think this is a shitty blog, we will continue to strive and hope that one day we move away from the shitty zone.
From all of us at deolububble.com, have a rewarding 2013. I really really really appreciate.
Long story short, thank you all.
Thank you!
P.S – The picture with this post is the closest to how I look, so if you’re guessing how I look, there is a clue. 😀
